KEY INGREDIENTS

Retinol (.75%)

A form of vitamin A that works by penetrating the skin and stimulating cell turnover. A highly effective ingredient for improving the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles, and the other signs of aging. Studies have shown that retinol works by promoting the skin’s natural cell turnover process and stimulating the production of collagen. Retinol has also been shown to improve the skin’s barrier function, help smooth the skin and reduce breakouts.

Niacinamide

Niacinamide, a form of vitamin B3 has been shown to improve the skin’s barrier function and improve the skin’s natural production of ceramides. Niacinamide has been shown to have a brightening effect on skin thereby helping reducing hyperpigmentation. It works by inhibiting the transfer of melanosomes from melanocytes to keratinocytes. Lastly, niacinamide has been shown to have anti-inflammatory properties to sooth and calm skin.

Sodium Hyaluronate

Sodium hyaluronate is part of hyaluronic acid. The difference comes down to molecular weight. Hyaluronic acid has a high molecular weight,

which means it’s a macromolecule. The large molecules coat the skin and prevent water loss. Sodium hyaluronate has a lower molecular weight than hyaluronic acid. It’s small enough to penetrate the epidermis or top layer of the skin. In turn, it can improve hydration from the underlying skin layers. According to several studies low molecular weight HA promotes the production of beta-defensin 2 (DEFß2,) a compound that promotes tissue healing. It also controls the activity of inflammatory cells.

Copper Tripeptide-1

A small molecule peptide that has been shown to have anti-aging benefits. It works by supporting the production of collagen and elastin. Copper Tripeptide-1 has also been shown to have anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties.

Janiastim (Glycerin and Jania Rubens Extract)

This red seaweed extract has been shown to help increase collagen density which provides a skin smoothing effect on the skin’s surface helping reduce the appearance of crows feet and other fine lines.
