Henna Brows - Organic tint for your eyebrows

What is a Henna Eyebrow Tint?

How great would it be to wake up in the morning and have your eyebrows already good to go? With henna, you can temporarily tint your eyebrows in a painless and all-natural way so they’re shaped every morning, with no need for pencils or powders.  Natural henna dye will be used to stain the skin as well as the brow hairs which gives the illusion of depth and fullness in the brow area. Henna tint is perfect for brows with little-to-no hair as it builds fullness with the skin stain. It's also great for fuller brows and those that want longer out of their tint. It’s also a way to trial a shape before you commit to semipermanent Powder Brows.

What is henna?

Henna is a natural dye made from a plant known as hina or the henna tree (Lawsonia inermis). It is a flowering plant used since antiquity for many purposes such as dyeing hair, skin, fingernails, clothes, fabrics, wool and as make up. Henna is a completely natural product which is free of peroxide activators.  It strengthens the eyebrow hairs, detoxes the follicles, conditions the skin. The color appears completely natural - never “cakey” and artificial like traditional chemical-based hair dyes. It is rising in popularity around the world as more people look for a natural alternative.

What does the henna brow process involve?

The process is very similar to traditional henna coloring methods that you may have seen in traditional Indian culture, but the brow henna shades are formulated specifically for eyebrow tones. We generally sculpt your brow line into your preferred shape via wax and tweeze method, then select one of the seven suitable henna shade to use. Henna powder and demineralized water are mixed together to create a paste, which is then applied through the shape of your eyebrows and allowed to soak into the skin for 10-15 minutes. Less intensity is applied that the beginning of the brow, with more strength in the arch and tail for an ombré effect that creates an illusion of depth and fullness in the area, visually filling in any sparseness.

How long do henna brows last and how do you maintain them?

The results of henna brows typically last up to 4 weeks, but it depends on your skin type. If you have a dryer complexion, henna brows will tend to last a bit longer than they would on someone with an oily skin. The more bow hair the better – people with little hair in their brows won’t see as long lasting results. Henna works best on healthy skin. The cleaner the skin, the better the henna can penetrate the skin. By scrubbing the eyebrows in advance, you remove dead skin cells and the dye can do its job better. Skin conditions like psoriasis, dermatitis and eczema will mean the henna won’t last as long. Also, to maintain henna brows for as long as possible, it is important to not over-wash your face. You can also purchase conditioners and oils to help them last longer.

Why you should have your eyebrows henna tinted?

Clients with lighter hair will need their eyebrows tinted to make them darker even if it is just a shade darker, this will give you so much more definition and will pick up the finer, fluffy hairs to create a shape you never knew you had! And this even applies for those with darker hair as well as they will have lighter, “fluffy”, hairs that will need tinting to achieve a more defined eyebrow shape. Henna brows tint will ensure that the shape is beautifully defined, and the brows are more visible, also help create that perfect frame for your eyes!
